This past holiday, thieves stole packages off doorsteps and porches at an astounding rate. Most of the parcels were gifts the homeowners purchased online to give to friends and family. Online gift purchasing is a popular trend, especially for those with work and home responsibilities and little time for mall shopping. The media called the thieves “Grinches,” but that only likened them to a cartoon character that actually had a heart. The real thieves, who completely ruined the holidays for so many hardworking people, had no hearts at all. Individuals lost money they specifically put aside for the holiday, special items they selected for loved ones, and hundreds of dollars.
Homeowners Videotaped Thieves
There was, however, some positive news. Various homeowners had previously installed Wireless Outdoor Home Monitoring Cameras that videotaped the goings on around their homes and where their packages were left. Many had a feature that cued the camera to turn on when it detected motion, so when the thieves stepped onto to porch and/or steps, recording began.
These homeowners caught full, facial shots of the thieves, which they provided to police and also posted online and on social media. The police were then able to make various arrests, including a 65-year old woman who one victim called “the Granny Who Stole Christmas”. She may also be involved in other cases.
Wireless Home Monitoring Camera
Depending on your device and system, you can record and/or receive live footage of areas around your home, business, or wherever you wish. Some offer features such as the above mentioned motion sensor and others have speakers, which allow you to communicate to whoever may be near the camera.
In order to record, you’ll need to purchase a camera with storage ability and/or cloud capacity and/or use a separate DVR system. Most cameras with recording capability come with onboard SD or microSD slots that provide adequate recording space.

A young man installed a few Home Monitoring Cameras with night vision in his apartment. He linked them to his smartphone, arranged for a live stream feed, activated the voice system, and set up various alerts. Then, he went about his life.
One evening, while he was out with friends, an alert sounded on his smartphone that a window had been opened. He then accessed the live feed and watched in astonishment as a thief wandered around his apartment and piled up his belongings, including his television, computer, stereo, and other valuables. Remembering the voice system, the young man activated it and ordered the thief to leave his home.Startled, the thief ran away.
The young man showed the recorded footage of the incident to police, who used it to arrest the thief.
How wonderful, the young man, who paid a very reasonable price for his Wi-Fi Cameras, didn’t lose any valuables and participated in the capture of the thief.
Wireless Home Monitoring Cameras
Wireless Home Monitoring Cameras or Wi-Fi Monitoring Cameras, as their names suggest, are wireless cameras that can link to your smart phone, computer, iPad, or whatever device you wish. You can aim the camera anywhere and protect anything.
The cameras transmit images via Wi-Fi to a linked device or DVR or cloud network for storage. Some cameras have recording capabilities and use micro cards to save videos. Once the cards are full, you can either record over them or purchase new cards. You can also save videos on your computer.

When you want to monitor for home intrusions, keep an eye on your baby and children, and watch the dog, all at the same time, Cloud Home Security Camera or Wi-Fi Cloud Cameras are good choices. They use a Web Portal, rather than a smartphone, computer, laptop, etc., for monitoring, yet you can use those devices to check in through the Web Portal.
This way, you do not have to record anything manually or, in other words, on a DVR or through the camera using replaceable cards
Dummying it All Down
The Cloud
Don’t confuse the cloud with the white puffy things in the sky. The cloud, in terms of Wi-Fi Cameras and other things technology, isn’t a physical entity. It’s actually a network of distinct servers. Some servers run applications while others store data.
If you take a photo with your smartphone and save it to the phone, it’s stored on the phone’s internal memory drive. If you then upload the photo to Facebook, you upload it to the cloud.
Web Portal
A Web Portal isn’t a Twilight Zone doorway or Star Trek destination. It’s a specifically designed website that functions as an access point for information. The site usually brings in data from different sources in a constant manner.
A Web Portal can also be thought of as a collection of individualized and labeled content. It helps in search navigation, notification, personalization, and data assimilation.
Put it Together
As mentioned earlier, when you use a Cloud Surveillance Camera and upload what you recorded to your device’s cloud, you do so through the device’s Web Portal, which you access through your smartphone, laptop, computer, or any device.
It’s always going to sound a bit confusing, especially because of the techno language. But, hopefully, this clear things up, at least a little.

A Wi-Fi security camera audits and records all that is going on. It is connected to a main server through a wireless network, where the homeowner and/or business owner can see and record everything. The owner controls the Wi-Fi camera from inside the home or business or remotely, from a computer or smartphone. The Wi-Fi Camera wirelessly conveys video signals to a wireless receiver that is linked to your recording device.
If you’ve ever considered installing a Wi-Fi, here are six reasons for doing so.
1. Wi-Fi Security Cameras are Wire Free
Other security systems attach to walls and telephones through wires. Intruders can simply cut those wires prior to breaking in. There are no such wires with a Wi-Fi Security Camera and, even with a power shortage and/or downed telephone lines, recording will continue as Wi-Fi Security Cameras run on batteries and utilize cellphone frequencies.
2. Live Video Feed
You can watch live feeds of your Wi-Fi Camera at any time, and not just to check for intruders. You can make sure your children have come home from school or from a party or see who may be approaching your door or delivering a package.
3. Insurance Discount
Insurance companies almost always provide premium discounts whenever a homeowner or business owner makes their property safer. Such bonuses often occur when a property is located near a fire hydrant, in a community that provides security, and when the owner installs a home security system.
4. Unlimited Choice of Placement
Since Wi-Fi Security Cameras don’t require wires, they can be placed anywhere you want, be it inside the home, outside the home, in a bedroom, in the kitchen, in the backyard… Anywhere you want.
5. Renters’ Accessibility
6. Visible Deterrence
The main purpose of Wi-Fi Cameras, of course, is to record goings on and the identities and activities of any intruders. They, also, however, serve as visible reminders to any criminal that your home is protected and that the police would catch them should they even think of trying to do anything harmful to your home.
Wi-Fi Security Cameras are simply a great way to keep your home, business, and family same.

What is Cloud Storage?
When a Wi-Fi camera records activity, it has to send the saved video somewhere. It can send it to a viewing and recording device or hard drive. You must be diligent and watchful when you record in this manner and make sure you change filled cards so that you don’t record over previous records, unless that’s your intent, or fill up your hard drive – it may seem strange to think one could actually fill up a hard drive, but such could easily happen if one is recording hours of surveillance. Carefulness is required to ensure that certain recordings aren’t deleted or lost.
Benefits of Cloud Storage
Or, one can arrange to forward Wi-Fi Security Camera recordings to Cloud Storage. When such is arranged, recordings are forwarded to an online storage system. There are three types: 1) Public Cloud Storage (data is kept in global centers; 2) Hybrid Cloud Storage (a mix of public and private services); and, 3) Private Cloud Storage (a firewall protects data).
Recovery
The main benefit of Wi-Fi Camera Cloud Storage is disaster recovery. Once a video is in the cloud, it’s always there and always available.
Accessibility
One can access recordings from the cloud Wi-Fi security camera through their computer or smartphone, from any location.
Ease
Making sure home devices are current on home device requires effort and maintenance. With cloud storage, all one has to do is create an account. Recordings are then automatically stored. And, cloud surveillance cameras were intentionally designed to connect directly to cloud storage. One could moveand nothing needs to be done.
Cost
Cloud Storage is also reasonably affordable, especially when it is compared to monthly back up fees, and provides more. As well, there’s no hardware or parts of any kind.
Maintenance
Cloud Services provides support and customer service, as well as troubleshooting and upkeep, which eliminates the need to contact repair technicians and having to wait for their arrival.
Updates
Cloud systems are always being updated. Problems are continually fixed and benefits are constantly revised.
No Worries
There are practically no worries when it comes to utilizing cloud storage for Wi-Fi camera recordings.
Cloud storage simply makes everything so much easier.

Home Monitoring Cameras
Home Monitoring Cameras can be used inside and/or outside the home and office. They allow one to sit at home or at their desk and check up on what the kids are doing; monitor the babysitter while out on a date, to see who is knocking at the door. All of this can be done discreetly and in real time, through a computer, laptop, or smartphone.
But, did you know you know that home monitoring cameras are helpful in other ways?
Pest Control
Home monitoring cameras are sensitive enough to detect pests such as rats and mice. Home monitoring cameras can even help detect insects. Once the camera captures the behavior on camera, an extermination service can properly dispose of the pest or, at least, keep them away.
Record Sleeping Patterns
A home monitoring camera can also be used to record a person’s sleep. Some individuals suffer with sleep issues and watching a tape of what goes on during the night can help them figure out what they need to do or if they need to seek professional treatment.
Baby Monitors
Baby monitors once used to just let a parent know if their baby was crying. With home monitoring cameras, parents can actually see what their baby is doing in real time.
Create Time Lapses
Check on Aging Loved Ones
Everyone knows how a home monitoring system can help them keep an eye on their pets and children, but what about their own parents? Today, many people are also caring for their own parents and a home monitoring camera can ease their worries when there are at work or away from the home.
Enjoy Your Kids
Of course a home monitoring system allows one to check on their children, but it also lets an individual who’s at the office or away from home enjoy their children. Imagine having an awful day at work and then getting the chance to use your home monitoring camera to see your child play for a few moments. It would instantly make you happier.
There are so many ways home monitoring cameras can ease your worries, simplify your life, protect what is important to your, and/or just make life more interesting.

The Modern Home Security System
A wireless home security system links your home to your Wi-Fi network and then allows you to monitor certain security devices through your cell phone. Most systems simply involve a motion detector, a few window and door sensors, and perhaps a motion sensor. But, if you wanted, you could install door locks, garage door sensors, adjust the thermostat, add sirens, and lights. You can even install water sensors and smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors.
Imagine all that without even a wire, box, or hole. Wireless systems have saved consumers saved hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars by eliminating those needs. And, the bigger the house the greater the savings. Naturally, wireless home security systems are taking over the home security market.
Wireless Home Security Cameras
Wireless Home Security Cameras are essential to any wireless home security system. Even when people don’t want or can’t get any other enhancement, they want the reassurance the Wi-Fi camera offers.
Wireless cameras, or Wi-Fi Cameras, as their name suggests, wirelessly broadcast video signals to the wireless receiver connected with your viewing/recording device. Wi-Fi Cameras may cost more than wired systems, but they actually provide savings because they doesn’t require cables or installation.
Above all the other enhancements and safety features, having wireless home security cameras provide consumers with the most peace of mind. And, most at least want one Wi-Fi security camera inside the home, as well as outside.
Cloud Home Security Camera
Cloud Storage
Before getting into the Cloud Home Security Camera, let’s first review what cloud storage means. There are three types: public, private and hybrid.
• Public Cloud Storage: data is stored in worldwide information centers and dispersed across various areas.
• Private Cloud Storage: data is stored and protected behind a private organization’s firewall.
• Hybrid Cloud Storage: a blend of public and private cloud services.
Home Security Cloud Camera Storage
As mentioned above, your Wi-Fi Camera or Wi-Fi Cameras will wirelessly broadcast video signals to the wireless receiver connected with your viewing/recording device. You can either set-up your camera to record at certain times, when it detects sound or movement, or all the time. Then, when the card is full, you either record over the previous recording or use another card.
With a Cloud Storage option, recorded footage, regardless of how you arrange it, is forwarded to remote servers. And, depending on the server and how it stores its data, it will charge you accordingly. One estimate stated that services in the U.S. started at $10 a month for ten days of ongoing recording. And, on the U.K., services began at £80/year for a ten-day video history.

Wireless security cameras allow you to safeguard your home, office, or really anything you wish to protect.
You install the wireless security camera or Wi-Fi Security camera anywhere you want and toward whatever you want. Many Wi-Fi Security Cameras also offer live streaming along with video recording, providing you immediate access to what is going on at your home, business, or wherever you choose to set your wireless security camera.
The wireless or Wi-Fi connection links the camera to your cell phone and/or computer without a tangled mess of cords. You can, therefore, take your Wi-Fi security cameras anywhere you want. No one will even know you have it with you.
Specifications that are Necessary to Understand
Wireless Home Security cameras have certain specifications that are necessary to understand prior to purchase.
Field of View
Field of View specifies the width of the area a camera can record. Such is important as it will impact how many cameras you’ll need and where you should place them.
Resolution
Resolution details how sharp the camera image will be. Such may be extremely vital should facial recognition ever be necessary.
Wi-Fi Capability
A Wi-Fi Camera is able to wirelessly communicate with your home network. Such is extremely handy for installation and is also less vulnerable to being disabled as there are no wires to cut.
Wireless Home Security Cameras Features
Wireless Home Security cameras come with many features from which to choose. Which is best for you?
Motion Detection
Motion detection allow the camera to note the slightest hint of movement. It will then turn on and also send you an alert so that you can monitor what’s going on.
Sound
This feature allows you to both hear what’s going on and to speak through an intercom built into the camera.
Night Vision
Recording in daylight is really no problem. Most criminals, however, come around in the night. This feature, thus, allows the camera to see and record.
Rain resistance
Some wireless home security cameras have certain waterproof ratings and can better handle the elements. Experts recommend a waterproof rating of 65 or higher in order to withstand weather conditions and stay functional.
Recording
It may seem obvious, but never assume. If you want your camera to record, make sure the one you purchase offers the feature, of course, should it be what you want. You should also decide what kind of recording (card v. cloud) and how you want the camera to record (continuous or set or activated). A cloud home security camera allows remote server storage, for which you pay fees.
Style
Should your camera be visible? Don’t answer too quickly. A visible camera is also a deterrent. It’s not simply a tool that only has a purpose after a crime is committed.
Adjustable
A fixed camera points at just one spot, which may be fine for your needs. Should you wish, however, to monitor a larger area, you may want a camera you can adjust, tilt, and zoom.
Hopefully, you are now better able to invest in a Wireless Security Camera.

A Wireless Home Monitoring Camera or Wi-Fi Monitoring Camera is a wireless Wi-Fi Camera that links to your cell phone and/or computer. Depending on your device and system, you can record and/or receive live stream footage of your home, business, or whatever you choose to protect.
It’s More Than Just A Security Camera
Many people just want a wireless home security system to protect their home from criminal activity. But, some also want a Home Monitoring Camera so that they can see what’s going on inside their house when they’re not around.
Some want to see what their dogs and cats are doing. Maybe Fido has been getting into the trash. Or, perhaps it’s really Princess and she’s been making it look like it’s Fido. You know cats. Or, maybe some parents want to make sure their teenage children are properly doing their assigned chores and aren’t throwing elaborate parties (you know, like they used to).
Or, perhaps they suspect the housecleaner of stealing. That’s a pretty nasty charge. You wouldn’t want to accuse someone of something so serious unless you had concrete proof, which a Home Monitoring Camera will provide.
And, you can do it all while riding home on the train or while sitting at a business conference, three states away.
Don’t Forget the Outside
The outside is important, as well. Fido might be digging up holes. The kids might not be bringing out the trash on time or separating out the recyclables adequately. And, ooh, who’s that at the front door? It looks like a bouquet of flowers. They remembered birthday! And, with the intercom on the Outdoor Home Monitoring Camera, you can tell the nice young deliveryman to leave the beautiful bouquet right on the porch.
Imagine, you did all that, right from your desk at the office, and still completed all the reports work you had due a full hour early. And, you never had to get up. All you needed was your cell phone and desk computer.
Oh, Yes, It Protects Your Home, Too
Your Wireless Home Monitoring Camera system also provides security and protection to your home, or really any place your decide to put it. And, you can add door locks, garage door sensors, thermostat adjustments, sirens, and even smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors.
When all is said and done, a Wireless Home Monitoring Camera System simply provides peace of mind.
